Here Today...Gone Tomorrow!

We are back from our weekend trip to NC. The only stitching I accomplished was in the car down and back.....due to this precious little guy!

Don't you love his jammies??? My daughter got them on the Burt's Bees website...two of my favorite stitching motifs......bees and alphabets. I asked her to save them for me when he outgrows them.

Here is what I started on the drive......Spirit of Christmas Stitching Santa Ornament. I'm stitching it on 14 ct perforated paper with the called for DMC. He will be a companion to my Stitching Angel by the same designer. See photo here: Spirit of Christmas Stitching Angel

Here's a photo of the finished Santa

I will be spending a lot of time on this guy as I leave tomorrow for the drive to the Nashville Market with Sara and Sally from Salty Yarns. I will be walking the floors with Sara then running purchases up to Sally who prices and adds the items to their website. I am a lucky girl!!! I will try to post some while there, but it will be limited. I will share what I can, but I don't like to share a lot here since I don't 'officially' work for a shop anymore. There are lots of shops and designers that post what's coming, so be sure to check them out. I am getting a list ready for Sara as to what I'm interested in.

I have lots to do today, so will end here with a photo of our little love bug. Thanks for stopping by and your "twisted threads" of friendship!

Some Finishing........697-699

I was able to get some finishing done yesterday and try a couple new to me products.

First up is a pair of Christmas pillowettes: Be Merry and Be Bright by Mojo Stitches. Both were stitched on a 28 ct mystery linen with a mix of CC, GAST and WDW fibers. I trimmed with some Mossy chenille from Lady Dot Creates.

Backing fabric
These are what I used the new products on. A friend gave me some stuffing to try and I love it. It gives a nice firm feel to the piece. It's a 100% cotton stuffing and can be found at quilting shops called Sweet Dreams.

This same friend gifted me some glue....I know, I know..... that she said Merry Cox is using now. I figured if it was good enough for Merry, it was good enough for me. I used it to attach the trim and it worked like a charm!

The next little finish is Tomato Row by October House Fiber Arts. This was in my retreat box from Violets and Verses. I stitched it on 37 ct. Legacy Corn Tassel with VMS fibers.

I had the perfect backing fabric in my stash

I worked a bit more on Winter Comes...it seems to be my only way to enjoy winter this year! LOL  I had to use a flash since it's dreary here this morning. It's hard to tell but the windows have little candles that are "glowing".

I have a busy weekend ahead and may be MIA for a few days. I hope you all have a great finish to the month of February. Thanks for stopping by and your "twisted threads" of friendship!

A Little House Building.....

I had planned to get some finishing done yesterday, but Cora had spent the night and asked me to take her to see Titanic. It was 3 hours 14 minutes long, so that was my afternoon. It is the 25th anniversary of the movie and it was as intense this time as the first time I saw it...plus it was in 3D! I couldn't believe it was $13 each for tickets and $6.99 for a small Pepsi Icee!!! I'm not sure how families can afford to go anymore!

I did a little roofing and window framing lat night on Winter Comes.

Hoping to get to some finishing today! Thanks for stoppng by and your "twisted threads" of friendship!

A Little Winter Stitching......

We had a nice weekend with my brother and his wife....nailed down our trip to the Canadian Rockies  and played quite a few games of Five Crowns. I finally got a little stitching in last night on Winter Comes by Heartstring Samplery. I just love how the colors are popping on the black linen. I couldn't press it as my granddaughter is sleeping in the room where my iron is. :)

A B C........696

I finished up the alphabet for my Sampler in a Jar last night. This idea was from Lori Holt and I thought it would be fun to do a few buttons at a time with motifs and such. I decided to work on the alphabet last weekend using a different font for each letter. I got the majority of the alphabets from the book Minuscales & Majuscules by Valerie Lejeune. I believe it is out of print, but a wonderful resource if you stumble across a copy.

Here are the last of the letter:

Here is the whole alphabet:

Here are the motifs so far:

Here is the jar where they reside...gifted to me by my friend, Lisa:

Gotta run....my brother and SIL arrive today for the weekend and have some tidying to do. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

P, Q and R...and some Antiquing Finds.....

First, the game last night was a good one but our team lost; they were down two players.  It was very evenly matched so no nail biting and I came out with my fingers intact!

I got a few more "letters" stitched:

Oops, the Q is upside down!

I spent a lot of time yesterday organizing and cleaning out my craft/sewing room. When it's looking 'tidy', I'll share some photos.

I said I'd share my antiquing finds, so here they are.....not a lot but some fun stuff...and all but the tiny tomato were on sale! I will change out that fabric on the spool chair. The shoe form is a child's size nine. The basket is a repro and missing a peg but thought it would look cute with a band of some sort.

I fell in love with this tiny green teapot and McDonalds mug!

Some Salty Stash Enhancement.....

I'm sharing my Super Bowl Sale purchases from Salty Yarns today. I didn't do any stitching yesterday.....I was tired last evening..will tell you why further down.

First, I got a few pieces of fabric and a mesh bag to stitch Shepherd's Bush Queen Bee Bag on. I already have the chart.

Queen Bee Bag

Then some charts and and a small Roloframe set....I have never used these before and thought the small one would be good for banding.

Overall, I was pretty restrained, but we get a nice discount and I like to support what I consider my LNS! Tomorrow I'll share my antiquing finds....

So, why was I so tired last night? Well, my grandson had a basketball game; they are in the play offs. It was against a team that demolished them last time they played. Our guys were down 12 points after the first quarter , so it wasn't looking good. But they came back with a vengeance and wound up winning the game by one point in overtime!!! I was so hepped up I couldn't sit still..it was back and forth and back and forth until the very end. One of our second string players was brought in to play in overtime....and he was fouled and made the basket that took them up the final point to win!!! It was an exciting game but definitely a nail biter!!! We have another tonight..hopefully I make it out with bloody finger tips! LOL

Happy Valentine's Day

I am home from my whirlwind trip to OCMD. The new shop is fabulous (see previous post) and I stumbled across items I had never seen before because there is so much open space to display all the goodies. I will post my stash enhancement soon. We stitched, we shared, we ate, we slept...then we started all over again.  There were three groups totaling 11 ladies that stayed in apartments at the Lankford and we had a potluck dinner with all of them Saturday night. It was heavenly!!!

Here are the gifts I made for my roomies and Sara and Sally.

I bought the boards at Hobby Lobby and stitched the conversation hearts on 14 ct white perforated paper with DMC. The chart was from FUDAstitch on Etsy.

While in OC, I was working on a set of alphabet buttons for my Sampler in a Jar. I got A-G done the first day and H-O done the next day, P and Q are stitched but not made into buttons yet.

I am doing these on scraps of leftover linen, over one, a different font for each letter.

 My jar is filling....slowly......

Sending you some 💗 for Valentine's Day! Thanks for stopping by and your "twisted threads" of friendship!
