Ornaments #3 .....(348-350)

Grandkids off to school and I've got some time to get things done. I'll be sharing more ornaments today--I really love hand made ornaments. One day I'll show some of the ones I had my girls make for friends and relatives when they were young....but not today! :)

Here are three Santa's that hang on our tree, another Astor Place Santa (1991) on perforated paper, a Santa (1987) stitched over one on 18 count Davos.....maybe I was ahead of my time with the over one stitching :).... and a Twisted Threads design, Santa's Beard (1997). The one on Davos was published on a greeting card, but I can't recall the design company. Edited: This was called Folk Art Santa by Graphique Greetings.

Off to run some errands.....thanks for stopping by and your "twisted threads" of friendship!

Stasi...sorry,  I keep forgetting to add this, but if you've expressed interest in one of the two items in the drawing; I am counting every comment you leave as an entry through the 10th. But, you must let me know which item you're interested in; if you don't, I'll assume you don't want to be entered in the drawing  :)

PS     Don't forget to enter my drawing...here are the details from the 11/22 post..good luck!!! I am extending the deadline to enter until 12/10/17.

"I just realized today is my 500th blog post....330 just this year--wow!!! To celebrate I'm going to have a giveaway. For every comment left between today and November 30th, you can enter to win the framed piece, Out of the Box by The Trilogy; it's tiny and can fit almost anywhere. Or, if you'd rather do some of your own stitching, you can enter to win the chart Christmas at Hawk Run Hollow  by Carriage House Samplings. Just leave a comment and state which item you want a chance to win. You can have one entry per post through the 30th and I will pick the winners on December 11th."

  1. Your trio of Santas are sweet. The "card" Santa looks like one of the Alma Lynne Santas.

  3. Love your Santas, especially the over one. Did you find stitching on the Davos tricky. I have tried and my stitches seem to get lost.

    1. Joyce,
I stitched that piece 30 years ago on the Davos, and do recall some slipping under the fabric threads. Since then I've learned you may have to 'alter' the direction of your crosses to prevent that. If you google "stitching over one" you'll come up with some sites that have instructions/diagrams to help with that. Good luck!

  6. Christmas at Hawk Run!!

Love the ornaments, the beard on the Santa is amazing! Hope your having the grands make the same ornaments that you had your children make, that would be a neat tradition.

  7. Think I missed this post somehow... What great Santas! Your over-one ornament banner-style finish looks really nice! I really am going to have to dig out my Santa kits - seeing yours stitched up is really good incentive.
