Nova....(318)

Are any of you Project Runway fans? I am a confessed PR junkie....I have watched every season and think I have seen every episode. I am always blown away by what these talented .....and some not so talented....designers come up with. Last night we saw the final elimination before Fashion Week and it's sad to see someone go who you know has worked so hard to get to that point. I sew but have always used a pattern; it amazes me how they create right on a mannequin. If you are watching this season, tell me who you think should win...or not!

My Stroll piece today was a long time in the making. I started it while living in Cincinnati in 1998 and finished it in 2016 in WV. I loved working on this...each square was a joy, but it got lost in the shuffle as so many projects do. It is called Nova and is by Ginny Morrow. Sadly Ginny passed away some years ago and the chart was in limbo, but I do feel it has be re-released by someone, just can't recall who. I added a few close ups of the squares. Fun...fun...fun!!!

I've been doing some stash unloading on FB. It takes a bit of time and is hard to "let go", but hopefully other stitchers will love what I no longer have an interest in....tastes change as we grow in our craft.

A cold snap is in the works for this weekend, so if you are affected, keep warm, and if you're not...enjoy! Thanks for stopping by and your "twisted threads" of friendship!

  2. Nova is a stunning piece. Well done, Stasi! I can't say that I have ever seen Project Runway. I am looking forward to this cold snap -- more time to stitch. Enjoy your Friday!

  4. I never saw Project Runway either! For a minute I thought this was a quilt you made, that one stitch heavy project, no wonder it took years to do! The colors are amazing and how each square looks like fabric..It is a fantastic piece!! Your diversity in patterns never ceases to amaze me.

  5. Project Runway has always been one of my guilty pleasures! I really thought Kenya was staying and Kintaro was going home last night. I feel really bad for her. I think Brandon will win, and I do like his stuff, but I also really like Margarita's style...who do you think will win?

  6. I think Kenya should have stayed and Kintaro gone home! Brandon has been the favorite all season and I think he will win. I have liked Ayana but I’m not sure about her final collection, and I like some of Margarita’s designs but not others. I do feel like there was more talent this season than in recent seasons, especially after the evil twins left!! 😉. I have Nova in my stash my sadly don’t think it will ever see the light of day!

  7. I have a Nova started and about 1/3 complete in my closet. This blog has prompted me to take it out again and get with it! Thanks for that. :)
