Gathering Pinecones....(312)

Yesterday's temps here were in the low 80's.....perfect night for some baseball...though you'd think it would be football weather. Today, temps will be in the 50's....Mother Nature, please make up your mind and let Autumn come breezing in. Here is a shot of Asher pitching last night.

On to some Strolling..... today's piece is Gathering Pinecones by Hillside Samplings, stitched in 1999. The ceramic button in the center was an option, purchased separately, but I liked it. This was a piece where everything came together perfectly, the fabric ( you can see the subtle over dye in the close ups), thread colors and frame. I have some shots of the pine cones as they were completed with different textural stitches.

And on the current stitching front,  am working to finish up the stitching on the Blue Band SAL...so close!!!

Thanks for stopping by and your "twisted threads" of friendship! Enjoy your weekend!

  2. Gathering Pinecones is a fabulous piece -- the different textured pinecones, the fabric, the button and that frame molding. Wow! Your Blue Sampler SAL looks good. Enjoy your Saturday, Stasi!

  3. Have been tempted by Gathering Pinecones many times, and your gorgeous finish is doing so once again. It's absolutely fabulous from one end to the other, and the frame sets it off to perfection!

  5. Stasi, , I love the textured pinecones and the frame could not be more perfect for this stitch, everything came together perfectly!!

We have had only a few real fall like days here too and the colors have been disappointing. Good for baseball practice though, does Asher play on a team?

  6. Thanks for taking some close-up pictures of those pinecones and the beautiful frame so that we could really see how lovely that piece is. Very nice job.
