Stitch Strolling into September....(244)

"See you in September...see you when the summer's through"! Here we are at the beginning of September, the start of my favorite time of year. Time has been flying by, but always seems to pick up pace right about now; before we know it, it'll be Halloween, then Thanksgiving, Christmas and 2018!!!

I am still Strolling and am thankful for those of you who have stuck with me since I started this journey back in January. Each month I go searching through the house and in my display cabinet for items to share with you. This has provided a wonderful way for me to document my stitching, over the last 20 years. It was in 1997 that I started keeping a record of my needlework, mainly the year the item was stitched and how long it took to complete. I stumble across projects from before then and am trying to make note of them now, but there are many that I did in the 70's to early 90's that I gave away and don't have access to. I feel I have had a needle in hand since I was 10 years old and 55 years of stitching has made for quite a collection. I only hope I am around for a long time coming and have the where with all to add to it! I certainly have enough stash to carry me through, even if I never buy another thing...and we all know that won't happen! :)

So, on to today's Stroll piece....it's Summer Swirl by Heart in Hand, stitched in 1999. This was a class I took at Twisted Threads and consisted of four seasonal "swirls". I had them made into a cube which I turn every three months.

I finished the last tree band on the stocking...getting close. Hopefully, I can get this and my daughter's both made into actual stockings before we head to NC later this month.

Thanks for stopping by and your "twisted threads" of friendship!

  2. Happy September, Stasi! The stocking is looking good; it won't be much longer before it is finished. The summer portion of your cube is adorable. I continue to enjoy your strolling; I have seen many pieces that I would have enjoyed stitching back then. Have an enjoyable Friday!
