A Quick Post.....

The air has cleared up this morning..just a tiny bit hazy....hope it's improved where you are, if you were dealing with this.

We're off to Virginia Beach this morning for a soccer tournament for James. We will be stopping at the Williamsburg outlets on the way!!! I can use a beach fix, but it won't be the same as my beloved OCMD.

I did finish N is for Narwhal by Hands on Design..three down, two to go. These are a quick stitch...two evenings and I'm done.

This is what I'm going to work on in the car. I'm doing it on perforated paper; it seemed appropriate for the trip today.

Wishing you all a great weekend where you can squeeze in some stitching time. Thanks for stopping by and your "twisted threads" of friendship.

Smoke or Fog......707

I woke up to a very hazy sky...not sure, at this point, if it from the Canadian fires or just morning fog. How about you, are you being affecting by the air quality? The shots of NYC were concerning! I hope it is not problematic where you are! We are scheduled to go to VA Beach tomorrow for a sand soccer tournament for my grandson. I'm wondering if it's bad there and, if so, will they cancel?

On to stitching.....I FFO'd my Summer Camp piece into a project bag. I knew I had the perfect fabric for it in my stash. This is stitched on 30 ct. WDW Tin Roof linen with GAST fibers.

I also finished the stitching on Wally the Walrus  by Hands on Design. Isn't he cute? Next up....  N is for Narwahl.

I hope you're breathing easy....thanks for stopping by and your "twisted threads" of friendship!

Did No One Notice......

.....I had the wrong date showing on my calendar yesterday? Not sure how I lost a day, but sure would like to get it back! LOL I am back on track...whew!!!

I started my second Polar Plunge ornament last night and realized I had never posted the first. I finished it right before I got sick, so it fell by the wayside. Here is the one I missed sharing..... Polar Bear Peek  by Hands on Design.

The latest one is Wally the Walrus.

Both are stitched on a 32 ct. mystery blue linen with DMC. I did fudge a little on the colors since I was missing some. I doing these for the grands this year. I bought the set of finishing boards and will FFO them all at the same time.

Good news.....Rich was able to repair my lamp...I am so lucky to have  a handy hubby!!!

Have a good one and thanks for stopping by and your "twisted threads" of friendship!

A Finishing Weekend........705-706

We started our weekend Friday by taking the grands out for ice cream to celebrate the last day of school. Next year we will have a high school junior  and sophomore and a 7th and 8th grader. Am I getting old or what??? I rode with James for the first time, but was a little concerned when no one else wanted to ride with us. LOL But he did fine and I made it to Brusters in one piece.

I got two pieces finished over the weekend.....Honeybees and Blooms Drum and Pinkeep.   Both are by Honeycomb and Threads and were kits. They were stitched on 36 ct Maritime White linen by Lakeside with called for GAST fibers.

I finished the stitching on my camp piece.

One unfortunate happening was the "head" of my used Dazor broke loose and dropped down. Hubby is hoping he can fix it with the help of my SIL and/or his Dad. Fingers crossed!!!!

Wishing you a great week...thanks for stopping by and your "twisted threads" of friendship.

A Honey of Finish......704

I hope you are having a nice, relaxing weekend. It is beautiful here...warm but not humid...I'll take it!

I finished a sweet little piece that has been waiting for a few months to see the light of day. It is Gathering Honey by Luminous Fiber Arts. I stitched it on a mystery fabric from my stash, over one, with Gloriana Old Gold silk. And, I added the teeny strawberry button from JABCO.

My camp project is moving along quickly. I think I'll finish it up tonight. I only have an urn of flowers and a simple border to do.

I saw this little Playmobil set and couldn't resist getting it. I found it at a toy store in Maine for $4.00. Even with shipping it was less than anywhere else. How cute is this???

I am going to mention again about Anonymous posters. I so appreciate you taking the time to comment but sadly, I don't know who you are. I'd like to respond....but can't. So please know I read and enjoy them all.

Thanks for stopping by and your "twisted threads" of friendship.

Sunshine on My Shoulder........703

Yes, I might have a little John Denver thing going on....one of my favorite singers. The sun is supposed to shine all today after almost a week of on again off again rain and sun. I'm starting today with a finish finish, since the recipient has received it. This is Sampler Scissor Box by Fancy Work. It was stitched on 32 ct White Chocolate linen with Gloriana silks. I finished it as a pincushion in a Sudberry base.

Next up is the finished stitching on Be A Friend by Needlework Press. I just love this sweet piece! Now to frame!

Last, but not least is my start on my Summer Camp project for June, The Sowing Sampler by Notforgotten Farm.
This is going fast but I kind of wish I had done it over one.

That's it for today...have a great weekend...hope you can enjoy some beautiful weather. Thanks for stopping by and your "twisted threads" of friendship!

My Bag is Packed and I'm Ready to Go......

Wow....who can believe it's June 1st? It's been a crazy year for me so far and I'm hoping time will slow down a bit...time to smell the roses and get some stitching done!

Summer Stitch Camp with Sheri, the Colorado Stitcher, begins today. For June, we're supposed to stitch a piece with a bird on it. I'm not a big fan of birds but I chose The Sowing Sampler by Notforgotten Farm. It is stitched on 30 ct WDW Tin Roof, over two, with GAST. Can't wait to plow my needle into the fabric today.

I am almost finished with Be a Friend by Needlework Press. Just have the border to do on the left.

Thanks for stopping by and your "twisted threads" of friendship!
