Day 100 of my Stitch Stroll.....and a winner! (100)

This has turned out to be a fun experience for me, as I revisit old projects and create a permanent (?) record of my work. I started keeping a written record of my stitching in 1997, noting the name of the piece, designer and how long it took to stitch. I distress over the fact that I didn't take photos until I started the blog, and more so the fact I don't have a record (except my memory and that's a little "footloose and fancy free" these days) of what I made in the past. I made countless birth samplers, Christmas stockings, wedding/anniversary samplers, most of which I gave away to friends and relatives. I have very little to actually "show" for my early years. I did find a folder, during the move, with some old charts of things I had stitched for people so hopefully they will jog my memory as to others. So, the question begs to be asked......do you keep a record of your work and how???

Now on to the stroll piece for today, April, from A Year in Chalk by Hands on Design. These were a gift for my daughter's birthday last year and I'm happy to say she has them on display and changes them out as suits her.

Drum roll please....... hubby just picked the winning entry for the Merry Cox kit. And the winner is....Ann Blalock!!! Congrats Ann--please e-mail me your address and I'll get this off in the mail. Thanks to those who left/leave comments; it is always appreciated and I enjoy reading them. I feel I've made some wonderful connections through our shared passion for needlework!

To close, my hubby was replanting a shrub yesterday and this tiny nest fell out. He used gloves to move it to another bush and we're hoping the little guys will make it! Will keep you updated.

Thanks for stopping by and your "twisted threads" of friendship!

  1. I love seeing all of your stitching pieces, old and new! Plu, I think it's a great way to keep the blog going. It's sometimes difficult posting an update everyday; I don't get to stitch every single day. Thank you for continuing to post!

  3. What a beautiful picture of the nest with eggs! I hope they survive. Congratulations to Ann on winning your giveaway! I have been enjoying your stitching stroll. I keep a journal of sorts; it includes my assorted lists as well as the assorted projects I stitch.

    Enjoy your day, Stasi!

  4. The only way I keep track of what I have stitched is through my blog. I hope the eggs make it!
