Je Suis Finis (I do remember some high school French)

Last night I was not doing just a "happy dance" but instead a "happy jig"!!! I put the final stitch in And They Sinned  by Examplar Dames. Here it is documented!!!

So the back story! I started this in 2002 after seeing it in person at the Charlotte Needlework Market and falling in love.  Got the bottom section done at that time, then put it aside where it languished until January of this year when I saw "chatter" about it on FB. This motivated me to pull it out and get moving!!! It's stitched on 40 count Abecedarian Blend by R&R over 2 linen threads. The fabric is much more of a golden brown than shows in the photos. I wanted an "antiqued" look. I used one strand of the called for Gentle Art Sampler Threads The finished size is 40" by 8" and took approximately 270 hours to stitch.

I am sad to have this end but am anxious to start some new projects. Now to get it framed and eventually hung next to my stitching chair.

Here is an overview and then photos by section:

Woo- Hoo!!!!!

Thanks for stooping by and your "twisted threads" of friendship!

I'm in the Final Stretch..............

I am on my last section of And They Sinned.  I thought I'd get the cloud out of the way first, then I only have an angel, the vine border, a couple snakes and cherubs left to do. Woo-hoo...I think I can get this done!!!!!

Here's where I stand:

I did  take a break from ATS and spent  a day mounting some old small pieces that I stitched in 2001. These were from a club called Shepherds Fold from Shepherds Bush. You joined for the year and got a monthly design along with a shabby chic look frame. I am going to switch them out monthly. Nothing like waiting over a decade to finish something up....oh wait...I'm seeing a pattern here!!! The buttons are what sold me on this club--they are just the cutest!!!

An early Happy St. Patricks Day to all and be sure to wear your green!!!! My Mom was a McNamara so you know I'll have mine on!!!

Thanks for stopping by and your "twisted threads" of friendship!
