Yes, I have finally finished the piece I've been working on since last weekend and I absolutely LOVE it!!! It's going to be my stroll piece for today and tomorrow (the smalls). This is one of two classes I took last year with Betsy Morgan at Salty Yarns (hoping to start the finishing on the other one soon); I was able to do the stitching last summer while in our temporary housing and they've both been waiting for completion. So, I present to you....Pioneer Girl's Book Etui.
Here is the back of the book. We had to remove every 10th linen thread and reweave it with the blue thread to make a "training cloth". I quote Betsy here, "Linen was made into training cloth as a means of helping young stitchers to work their alphabets in straight lines".
Next, we have the inside of the book which is composed of two "boxes" on either side and a pincushion in the middle. The smalls, which I'll share tomorrow will store nicely in the boxes.
This was a lot of work, but so worth it in the end! I hope you love seeing it as much as I loved creating it.
I did manage to start a new project last night, the final piece in my Shepherd's Fold set. It's the Reach Stitcher's Ruler by Shepherd's Bush. I stitched while watching a--new to us-- PBS series called Home Fires.
I hope you're having a beautiful weekend and don't forget to leave a comment for a chance to win the Merry Cox kit giveaway (details on April 3rd post).
Thanks for stopping by and your "twisted threads" of friendship!
