A French Bon Bon anyone??? (96)

Well, this was a first.....our 8:00am dentist appointment was cancelled due to potential thunderstorms. Now granted, there is also mention of tornadic activity, but I've never had this happen before. Many schools also decided to have a  two hour delay this morning; I don't remember this occurring in Cincinnati, where we were in the path of dangerous tornadoes, and actually experienced the aftermath of one. As of this minute, 7:30 am, we still don't have any rain!! Go figure!

On to the stitching stroll. Today's piece was a Merry Cox class from 2008, the French Bon Bon Box. I remember thinking, back then, that this was a marvel of construction and amazed I could accomplish something like it. Merry's husband made all the bases out of wood and we covered them with pretty paper. Embroidery stitches were used for the birds and couched ribbon surrounds them. I'm sharing the box today and the smalls tomorrow.

I worked a couple more hours on my finishing yesterday and am getting close. Boy this project has been time consuming ------can't wait to share it!

Hope it's dry and clear where you are....the storm has finally started here and it's POURING! I think I may be glad the dentist cancelled, we would have been leaving right about now! :)

Don't forget to leave a comment for a chance on the drawing..details in the April 3rd post.

Thanks for stopping by and your "twisted threads" of friendship!

  1. This one's in my stash--just a wee bit intimidated to try the finishing. Yours is an inspiration!
