A Thimble Purse......(276)

Today I'm sitting here sipping a steaming cup of tea and trying hard not to dwell on the Las Vegas shootings (I had posted yesterday before I knew this had happened). It seems quite insensitive to be blogging about my needlework while families are suffering major loss and heartbreak. I worry that I am becoming "desensitized" to all these horrors when they are occurring on such a regular basis and we watch them unfold 24/7 on the TV. I start to question why there is so much hate in the world, why can't we all just get along,  accept others differences and not judge......? Then I have to pull myself back from the negativity and try to focus on the positive...that there are people who have kind and loving hearts....that put others before themselves.....that place themselves in harms way to protect/save the fallen. And I realize there are more of those positive, caring people in the world than the haters and that is what I choose to focus on.....love not hate!

So with that in mind, I will move on with my Stroll piece for the day...sharing the needlework I love with those who also share my love and doing my very small part to bring some normalcy to this crazy world. Here is Schoolgirl Sampler Thimble Purse from With Thy Needle and Thread. I did this as a birthday gift for a friend in 2016.

Thanks for stopping by and your "twisted threads" of friendship!

  1. Stasi, your thimble purse is darling. What a wonderful gift you created! Like you, I try to focus on the positive. I like to believe that there are more of us who are kind and compassionate in this world than those that hate. Thank you for today's post!

  3. Stasi, I hope we never become de-sensitized to the horror of such attacks. I can't even begin to imagine how someone can get to a place to commit such atrocities.

Your stitch is beautiful and what a lovely gift your friend received.

  4. I did one of these, too, Stasi. Can't remember what the name of mine was. You did a beautiful job stitching and assembling yours.

  5. This is such a lovely piece Stasi. I do love it. What happened in Las Vegas is unexplainable and heartbreaking. My prayers have been with the victims and their families. RJ
