Christmas in July...(198)

Today I'm going to try to cool things down a bit and start a little Christmas Strolling....after all, there's only 161 days until Christmas! First up is Baa..Humbug by Ewe and Eye and Friends, stitched in 2000. E&E&F often did whimsical designs and this is definitely one of them! Sorry for the poor quality of the photo, but 99% of my framed pieces are glassed and that presents a problem with glare, no matter where I try to take the shot.

I didn't get any stitching done yesterday as I was on a quest. I had promised my grandson we'd go searching for a Jackson Storm Matchbox car, never realizing that after 2 Wal-Marts, Target, Five Below, Kohls and Toys R Us, we'd come out empty handed. We succumbed to ordering from E-bay and paying twice what it sells for in the stores, but he was paying for it himself and wanted it THAT bad. Funny thing is I told him I could totally understand his fixation.......how many times have I obsessed over a certain chart/kit and spent hours trying to hunt it down!!! Hopefully we both learned a bit of a lesson!!!

Thanks for stopping by and your "twisted threads" of friendship!

  1. Love the sheep leaping over the Christmas tree! That is too funny about the Matchbox car, but I can relate as a stitcher. Enjoy your day!

  2. Stasi, what a great grandmother you are, think of all the gas money you would have saved if you ordered first from ebay! I understand the obsession though!
Love anything with sheep and this is a cute stitch, I like how the wider frame duplicates the border size...works perfectly. Mary

  3. You are the best, Stassi! The things we do for our little guys, and for ourselves lol. I love your comparison, it's so true :)
I love Baa Humbug, what a gem.
    Have a great day

  4. Hi Stasi!
I have missed your stitching strolls and was so happy to get to see so many of your stitches today. We are now in Colorado and enjoying much nicer weather than hot and sticky Florida. This is the first time I've been able to use a computer to visit the blogs of fellow stitchers. This hotel has two of them. Glad you were able to find the match box car for your grandson. I totally understand the obsession of finding something that is so hard to find...great job Grandma. RJ @stitching friends forever
