Thanks for the anniversary wishes..much appreciated! Rich had to work yesterday morning, but we wanted to spend the afternoon together and had volunteered with a local food bank to distribute food for kids, like a back pack program. Well, it was set up outside a library and it was 100 degrees!!! I made it about 30 minutes into a 2 hour shift, then had to retreat into the library where I stitched and "dripped". Luckily there were more than enough volunteers, not affected by the extreme temps, who could handle everything. I really don't know what I was thinking....I've never been good in the heat!!! As a result, we stopped for Subway on the way home and are planning a nice, cool dinner out on Sunday!!!
Today's Stroll piece is Jolly Santa, a Bent Creek Zipper kit stitched in 2002 and never finished into something....one of these days!!! It's on 18 count linen, not too big and would make a cute pillow!
Thanks for stopping by and your "twisted threads" of friendship!
Stasi

I remember Jolly Santa! I think he would make a cute pillow or even a door knob pillow. Yesterday's heat was miserable and I am glad that you were able to head inside after a bit. Enjoy your Friday, Stasi!
ReplyDeleteYes, it was even quite hot up here in Wisconsin yesterday. That Santa is adorable.
ReplyDeleteIt was very hot here in Maryland also and today doesn't seem much better stay in and keep stitching. Love that Santa, would love to see your finish. Noel is nice also.
ReplyDeleteJoyce you are entered into the drawing--thanks for stopping by. Be sure to check back on the 25th since you are no-reply!
DeleteNoel! Very hot here in Baltimore, too. I think the Santa would be very nice finished into a pillow.
ReplyDeleteThanks Debbie!
DeleteYour Santa is adorable and I like Robin's idea of a door knob pillow. I wilt in the heat, it drains all my energy. Nice of you to volunteer and at least they got 30 mins out of you and you didn't have a heat stroke, smart woman to go inside. Enjoy your Sunday dinner celebration. Mary
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I love to volunteer when we can. That sounds absolutely miserable at 100 degrees. I would melt! Thankfully, we don't get too many days like that around here. Love your little Jolly Santa piece. Have a great weekend! --Andrea
ReplyDeleteIt was very hot in Colorado too but I'm sure even hotter in Florida at home. I love your Santa and I too love Robin's idea of a door knob pillow. Not sure if I have mentioned Noel before but I will now. RJ
ReplyDeleteWow that was hot to be doing that kind of volunteer work it always goes at a quick pace too but great work😘 Lovely stitching...
ReplyDeleteNoel! Thanks for a chance....

DeleteI empathize with you about the heat - have never done well in it either - that 100 degrees sounds awful.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun Santa! A little Christmassy cushion maybe?
