A Tisket, a Tasket......(323)

..... an Autumn Garden Basket Band!!! This was a class I took, from Charland, at the Shepherds' Bush retreat in 2002. We had the option to make a horizontal band or vertical sampler; I opted for the band. I had a basket I had made on a trip to the Longaberger factory that I thought would work....and it did! :) There is also a matching emery that I have hanging from the basket.

For those that don't know, the state of Virginia's motto is "Virginia is for Lovers". I have been noticing these cool sculptures that say "love" when driving around and decided to start photographing them to see how many I can come across. I have two to share so far, but found a huge list on the internet with locations all around the state. What fun!!! I see some road trips in the future...if I can talk hubby into it!

I saw this one at the craft show at the Richmond Raceway......

that's helmets for the 'V'

..and this one at the Tractor Museum in Colonial Heights.

I'll post more as I find them!!! We can all use a little love!!! Thanks for stopping by and your "twisted threads" of friendship!

  1. What a gorgeous band you created for your made by your hands Longaberger basket! I really like the two LOVE pictures you shared; very appropriate for their venues. I look forward to seeing more as you find them. I know they bring in the "standard" one for the street festival here in Madison before Labor Day.

  3. I love your basket band. We have a basket stitch scheduled for next June and I'm anxious to stitch on it. I love yours and would have loved to have been at that Shepherd's Bush retreat (a dream wish for me). Your Longaberger basket is gorgeous as well. You are a very talented lady. 4. Oh, I am jealous now, a SB retreat!!! The band is beautiful. I have a few Longaberger baskets and will have to add a band to one of them.
Neat idea taking the Love photos, I love the way they carry the theme of the location in the sign. I have a photo I took of the big LOVE sign in Philly, have you seen that one?
