Toy Chest Etui Smalls Part 1 .......(264)

Before I post my Stroll pieces for today, I wanted to share the finished Christmas stockings for my daughter and her husband. I worked diligently on them yesterday afternoon and they are ready for the trip to NC this weekend. The designs are Victorian Christmas Stocking and Cranberry Row Christmas Stocking, both by Rosewood Manor.

Now for play time......these are the smalls that were part of the original class kit (I just noticed on the chart cover that Betsy called these "toys for big girls"). A few more were added over the next couple years and I'll show them tomorrow. The first two photos show (clockwise from upper left) Primer Pincushion, Needlebook, Button Box and Waxer Box.

Note the drumsticks on top of the waxer box

The next two photos show the Scissor Keep, Scissor Fob and Thimble Keep.

I'm including the photos from Betsy's Chart front here because they show the project off much better than my photos.

Thanks to Betsy for a fabulous class and a true heirloom to pass on to my grandson and thanks to you for stopping by and your "twisted threads" of friendship. Have a great one!

  1. This is my favorite class project of all time. I remember when our guild hosted her. Taking class with Betsy is just pure joy. Can't wait to see her in January at the Attic!

  3. I love the stockings!! Your finishing is wonderful, did you line the stockings? Alex's is my favorite of the two, love all those trees! They are going to be thrilled to receive them.

The accessories for your box are just wonderful, the AMish man and woman are a lovely addition to the Pa Amish look of the box. What a great project, I hope to take a class some day.

  4. Oh my Stasi I love everything. Perfect stitching and finishes. Your stockings are gorgeous as is everything else. Sorry I have been MIA but we have not had electricity for quite some time and even when that came back the internet did not because of Hurricane Irma. It's been quite an experience. RJ

  6. The stockings look beautiful - perfectly finished and ready to be hung by the chimney.

The Toy Box smalls are completely delightful! Love the primer and the paintbox, and especially the acorn side of the needlebook(?).
