Another Day in Paradise.......(162)

Another beautiful sunrise but today is going to be hot....hot....hot!!! I'd much rather the 60's of last Thursday than the 90's of today...guess I'll be "shimmering" a bunch today!

My Stroll piece today is a recent project, one of the gifts I've been working on the last month. It is Something Blue by Bright Needle and was gifted to Sara for her birthday (which was in May). Her son, and buddies and hubby all like to fish, so I thought it was perfect for her.

Yesterday's class was great and I learned something new...English paper piecing. We made a little 8 sided pin cushion in class and then will use that technique to sew the bottom band of  the bag.

The name of the project is Bristol Sampler Stitching Bag by Betsy Morgan of Willing Hands.

Betsy is a fabulous teacher, very kind and patient and I think everyone left with their pincushion completed. Another class is on for today and here is the pre-stitch I did for that.

Hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to share the finished product.

Thanks for stopping by and your "twisted threads" of friendship!

  2. Hi Stasi, Your retreat is such a great learning experience, I would love to attend one but for now floss tube will have to suffice. I can't wait to see the blackwork finished and love your little fishing stitch! Enjoy the rest of the retreat, Mary

  3. Your little fishing piece for Sara is adorable. I stitched one of their fishing samplers for my husband many moons ago. Your pincushion is sweet and I look forward to seeing what you do with the blackwork piece.
