Just got back from a quick visit to Baltimore with my parents, siblings, niece and nephews. Always good to see everyone!
My Stroll piece today is a class piece from 2011 with Betsy Morgan from Willing Hands. It's called This One's for Betty...an Elizabethan Spot Motif Etui. I'll share the Etui today and the smalls tomorrow. I'm showing from all sides with a close up of my favorite section- the whitework. I jut love those twisted buttonhole stitches (sorry if I'm not remembering the correct name and I'm too lazy to go find the chart.)
I've managed to get two more of the Samsarah calendar pieces stitched on my road trips and a good start on My Stitcher's Heart.
I love the colors in the Stitcher's Heart piece!
Thanks for stopping by and your "twisted threads" of friendship!

Oh my this one's for Betty is gorgeous!!! Those stitches of the (buttonhole stitch) are beyond awesome. I truly love how it looks. The Stitcher's Heart is coming along so beautifully too. Great job, Stasi! RJ @ stitching friends forever
ReplyDeleteOh yes, the white work is truly lovely.
ReplyDeleteLovely etui! Congratulations on getting 2 more calendar pieces stitched up! Good progress on The Stitcher's Heart piece. Go Stasi!
ReplyDeleteThe etui is amazing! Double-running, cross over one, pattern darning(?) and motifs with almost a Berlin work feel to them ... and then that gorgeous whitework section - I like that it's done with a heavier thread so it shows up better. And those buttonhole bits are very tricky looking (especially since I can't figure out how one would make them do that twist, LOL). Beautiful stitching and finishing, as always.
ReplyDeleteAm intrigued by My Stitcher's Heart - looks like a neat design, and you've made me curious - were you stitching in the hotel on your trip, or can you actually stitch in the car?
