Santa's Workshop....(370)

Our whirlwind weekend went by in a blur. We started our trip early Friday morning and drove to Eliicott City, MD for lunch with friends. It started snowing with only an inch forecast, but I guess it was enough to throw all of Baltimore into a panic to leave work early. So what should have been a 20 minute drive to my parents, turned into a 2 hour trek around the Baltimore beltway...bumper to bumper all the way!!! Luckily, I had my travel stitching to pass the time, but poor hubby had to deal with all the craziness!!! We had dinner with my parents, brother and his wife and started out early Saturday morning on the drive to Bethlehem, PA for our friends memorial service. It was emotional, yet moving and uplifting and we got to reconnect with old neighbors and friends. Then back to my parents and a very early departure Sunday morning to head home. My daughter had surprised me with a birthday tea at the Jefferson Hotel in downtown Richmond for Sunday at 1:00PM. She had made the reservations the beginning of September (and they're evidently hard to come by). She had hopes we'd have Esther by then and we did...just in the nick of time!!! Here is a photo of us enjoying a lovely afternoon tea!

Now on to my Stroll piece. Today we have a piece by Just Nan that was an exclusive kit for the Silver Needle. It's called Christmas Workshop and was stitched in 2007. It's a sweet little pyramid that opens up with an adorable 3-D Christmas tree and pockets to hold small sewing tools like a needle threader, thread cutter and waxer. I added the colored pins as 'ornaments' and the star at the top of the tree.

Lots to do and so little time, so I bid you Adieu! Thanks for stopping by and your "twisted threads" of friendship!
