I'm posting this tonight since we'll be heading out early tomorrow.
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas Day. Ours was met with some ups and downs as the new grandkids were indoctrinated into Christmas, American style!!! We tried our best to keep it low key, but it was still overwhelming. However, Esther showed some interest in my stitching, so I pulled out a little kit I had at the ready and she picked it right up. Note, her baby doll on her back...she took a large piece of bubble wrap we had and tied the doll to her back, as I'm sure they did in her home country...pretty cool!!!
The Stroll piece for today actually consists of 23 mini stockings that I did for my parents to hang at their house. They represent my parents, my siblings, their spouses and my nieces and nephews. I stopped at that point and have never done ones for the Nieces and nephews spouses , nor the great nieces and nephews. However, my Mom has added small ones she bought to fill in that gap. I took some of these from various mini stocking leaflets and others from Christmas designs I tweaked to fit the shape.
Sorry the photos are a bit on the blurry side; I'll have to try for a better picture at my Mom's tomorrow. We are driving to Baltimore to get my parents and bring them back to meet their new great grandchildren. At the same time, my younger daughter is driving up with her husband from North Carolina for the very same reason. It looks to be a busy week!!!
Thanks for stopping by and your "twisted threads" of friendhip! A final Merry Christmas!!!

Esther is so adorable with her doll and learning to cross stitch. I love all of your little stockings...what a nice thing to do for your Mom. Have a wonderful time tomorrow. It should be exciting for all to meet new family. RJ
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness. What a precious picture.
ReplyDeleteWow. Those stockings are very impressive Stasi. I also wonder what is the medal above the swords?
You are a prolific stitcher!! All those adorable stockings, what a lovely display of your work. Love the photo of you and Esther, I hope she takes up stitching, it would be lovely to share your passion with her. That is so creative how she attached her babydoll to her back.
ReplyDeleteStasi, what super stockings you created and I love the display at your parents' house. Thank you for sharing the photo of you and Esther. Have a safe trip to and from Baltimore!
