December.....(340)

Today's Stroll piece is the last of the Shepherd's Bush Fold series, December.

I went to the VGN Christmas lunch today and it was lovely. We had a talk on felted wool sculptures and made a little felted 'fob'. Sharon, one of our members, made us sweet little pin holders out of salt shakers filled with gold beads for the 50th anniversary of the guild. This is getting filed away for future reference!

There was a pottery sale going on, at the church where we meet, for a local charity so I checked it out after the meeting. Won't this make an adorable ort container???

And to end....we got wonderful news yesterday! The path is cleared for my daughter and son-in-law to travel to Sierra Leone and bring home James and Esther. They leave early Tuesday morning and return late Saturday night. So very soon we will be the proud new grandparents of two darling children. I will post pics as soon as I can. Plans are to keep things very low key for the Christmas season as they will be quite overwhelmed with our culture as compared to theirs.

Thanks for stopping by and your "twisted threads" of friendship!

  1. Oh Stasi, that is incredible news. Wishing them a safe trip to and from and prayers for the kids as it is finally happening for them and the adjustments they will make. What a cool idea using a salt shaker with beads for a pin cushion.

  5. Stasi, I am so happy for you and your family, what a wonderful Christmas this will be to have them finally home.

Oh, I love the SB stitch and a great idea for the shaker and pottery piece! I'm really curious about orts, I save any piece that I can still take a couple of stitches with in my envelope system but if I can't get a stitch out of it I throw it out. Can you tell my why you save the orts? do they ever get used?
