Stasi's Stitch Stroll 824-828

Well, it's been a fairly lovely beginning to the fall season, though this past week found us back to lower summer temps. I'm so ready for my jeans and sweaters!!!

In that spirit, my first finish to share is Winter Comes by Heartstring Samplery. I bought this as a kit from the Homespun Needlework page back in the beginning of 2022. It is stitched on 32 ct. black Belfast with WDW fibers. I finished the stitching on 9/8 and started the hunt for a frame. I stumbled upon this one at Hobby Lobby. It had a print in it that I thought I could easily remove and that sweet scalloped edge.

Alas...that was NOT the case!!! The scalloped edge was a thick paper and was fused to the canvas print. I tried to pry them apart but it all just ripped. Luckily, I was still happy with the beaded edge, looks like snowballs!

I was able to buy glass at Michael's, so it is protected....I figured the black would attract lots of dust.

I have been working on some patriotic pieces to honor our Semiquincentennial. First up is Liberty by WTNT....stitched on a 46 ct. mystery linen with a combo of fibers.

Second, is Flag Folk by Notforgotten Farm. I had the perfect frame for this in my stash...bought over 20 years ago when I worked at Twisted Threads (still had price tag on it). But, this entailed adjusting the pattern a bit to fit the frame.  So, it was stitched on 46 ct. WDW Confederate grey linen and I had to leave out some of the design. But it worked out and I love it!

I finally stitched my animal cracker, Bobbin, by Stacy Nash. It seems they are addictive from all the "collections" I see on FB and IG. Stitched on 36 ct. BOAF Sandpiper with WDW fibers. I used a real needle with a bobbin charm hanging from it and she sits upon a vintage bobbin.

I also sticthed and finished a needlebook, Autumn Rose by La D Da. This was a kit and sticthed on 36 ct. Winter Wheat by FArm Girl Dry Goods with DMC and WDW fibers. Finished with supplies provided in the kit.

I recently went to OCMD with by brother and SIL. The condo where we stayed had this hanging on the wall...pretty cool.

Went to an antique store in Berlin and found this sweet little petit point coin purse....says it was made in Austria.

In closing, I was lucky to be able to attend Lori's fall Open House at Notforgotten Farm this past Saturday. Here are some photos of her shop:

Look at all the "littles"!!!

All of her models .......  and the wools....a feast for the eyes!!! I'm not a rug hooker, but they are luscious!!!

Thanks for stopping by and your "twisted threads" of friendship!

Stasi
