My Second Gift Revealed.......753

Greetings fellow stitchers! It is hard to believe that May is just about half over!!! I am starting to freak out about about my preparations for Stitch Con!!! I have heard that people give their tablemates little gifts and some even give little "remembrances' to a large number of the attendees...maybe all 300!!! I am feeling overwhelmed!!! I have an idea for my tablemates and another one for stitchers I may meet in person there, but who I might follow on FB or IG. Then it's what to take to wear and stitch on for over a week. My head is spinning!!!! I keep telling myself "you can only do what you can do". I'll keep you posted as to what develops.

I do have another finish of a piece I gifted to a friend. It is Sisterhood of the Needle by The Colorado Stitcher. This is perfect for a fellow stitcher and turned out so cute. I stitched it on 40 Ct Pearled Barley with WDW fibers. I added some blue ric-rac around the perimeter and filled with walnut shells.

We went to visit Jax last week and I did some work on a new car project. Brookes Books just had a sale recently and I bought a few more of her designs on perforated paper. This is Fauna, The Fairy Witch. I changed colors up a bit...mainly due to me stitching a large portion of her dress in the wrong color. I was NOT going to take that out!!! I'm considering leaving off her witch hat; I love her white hair and most gets covered up by the hat. Plus, I think she looks more fairy-like without the hat.

Speaking of Jax.....here is is taking time to smell the flowers!!! He is such a sweet boy!!

Thanks for stopping by and your "twisted threads" of friendship!
Stasi

  1. Love both the stitched pieces, sisterhood was perfect. The Fairy Witch is going to be a great addition to the collection and now I'm thinking of going back to order the witch collection as well. I did the 7-8 patterns I ordered, however as we both know I have yet to put them into the rotation. But I love looking at them and have high hopes I'll get to some of them shortly.

  4. I know an event like Stitch Con would stress me out to no end, Stasi, which is why I can't do stuff like that. I'm sure whatever you take/give will be very much appreciated. Hope you enjoy yourself! Fauna is looking great! How many threads do you use when stitching on perforated paper? I'm thinking of making that Grinch ornament that you made a while back for my Grandson, but have no clue as to how many threads/what size perforated paper is best.

That little pillow is so sweet as is little Jax. They sure grow up quickly, don't they?! ♥

I hope you had a fantastic time at Stitch Con! I do like gifting my table and friends at retreats, but wow, 300 of them?!
Your Fauna is look good, maybe you could stitch the hat and she could holding it? It's a pretty one.
Awe, Jax is such a cutie!
