Stitch Stroll 810-820

I have been on a finishing tear this past week. I have to be in the mood for finishing, but my pile was getting deep and most were ornaments/smalls, so easily knocked out. Of course after I had to go through stash to find the right backing fabrics, ribbons, etc..

First up are Folk Art Ornaments by Tapestry Barn. They were stitched on 25 ct. black Dublin with DMC. These will be my ornaments for the four older grands...that is if I can bear to give them away!!!

Aren't these backing fabrics fun???

Next up is Botanical Bee by Hands on Design. I made this into a pin wheel...stitched on 36 ct. Seaspray by Seraphim Fabrics with WDW. Sorry, but the photo is washed out; the fabric and fibers colors are much brighter in person.

Then we have Home is Where My Samplers Are by The Scarlett House...stitched on 40 ct. WDW Beige with Vikki Clayton silks. I mounted this on a small board I got, at some point, from Hobby Lobby.

Next, we have I Stitch by Teresa Kogut. I did this on a 40 ct. mystery linen with DMC. I found the frame at Hobby Lobby in the clearance section. It was only $6.80 and I just had to fudge a bit by sewing the button band at the bottom. I'm going to be checking there for frames more often....sometimes you get lucky!

Finally, I have the four Christmas Angel Ornaments by Birds of a Feather. These were stitched on 28 ct. Tiny Neutral Snowflakes by Fabric Flair with GAST. I'm keeping these for myself!!! LOL

Now back to my regularly scheduled stitching....these hot, humid days have allowed for lots of stitching time. I run errands/do chores in the AM and then confine myself to the AC for the remainder of the day.

Stitch Stroll...... 809

Just finished framing this, myself, in a frame I found in the discount section of Hobby Lobby. It was a gift from Claudia at Dutch Treat Designs after a lecture at the Delaware Valley Historic Sampler Guild. I stitched it on 36 ct BOAF Sandpiper with AVAS silks…. Over one. I used a full cross…. looking back I’m not sure why I did, but maybe the dark colors weren’t covering to my liking. It would have gone a lot faster with a tent stitch!!! LOL.

I started this in September of 2023 and finished it last week. The size is 5X7. I had to add the lace at the bottom to make it fit!
